Anthony the goldfish has just been eaten by Cleopatra the cat. Although her owner had locked the door, Cleopatra had entered through the open window and, in trying to catch Anthony, had knocked his bowl off the table, smashing the glass (whereupon she ate the luckless Anthony...).
