The main objective of this site is to bring together a range of information and advice that will help you to understand the Higher Education (HE) application process. To this end it's organised around four main themes:

Firstly, doing some basic research about HE - in simple terms, thinking about where you want to go, why you want to go there and what you want to do once you're there...

Secondly, the application process itself. In this respect the idea is to help you understand and complete the process  successfully.

Thirdly, the Universities and Colleges Admission System (UCAS) is the mechanism for HE applications and, since you will be applying to HE through this system it might be useful to know a little bit about how it works (and what it will expect you to do...).

Finally, if you're thinking of applying to HE and then deferring your entry for a year, this section looks at a few of your "Gap Year" options.
