Other Stuff
There's a few more things I should mention (since I want to convey the impression that I'm a busy, purposeful, well-rounded (in the non-physical sense) kinda guy. Obviously).

Firstly, there's the web site (Sociology Central if you have to ask). It's been running for about 5 years now and has nearly 1000 pages hidden away inside its dark recesses. Visitors are running at about 4 - 5000 unique hits a week, give or take a school holiday or two (at least I think they're unique - it could, of course, just be one sad individual with a grudge constantly hitting the "Refresh" button ...).

I occasionally do a bit of freelance lecturing for companies like Philip Allen, Network Training etc. (usually on something like "Sociology and the Internet"). However, I'm not a big fan of the Conference format and I try to limit the extent to which I do this type of work (translation: they've stopped calling after the last fiasco...).

A couple of years ago I started to develop a Value-Added form of analysis for the College at which I work (from scratch! - designing all the forms, carrying out the analysis...), so I've been pretty much on-the-ball VA-wise (I've also been sent to Coventry, verbally-abused and looked-at in a sadly-bemused way more times than I care to recall).

Finally, I'm a personal tutor to a wide variety of students about whom I care deeply and passionately. I like to think they are my children and deserve all the care and compassion it's possible for - let's be honest about it - a generational role model such as myself to muster. Although, I suppose if I'm really being honest (and possibly starting a new, dare-I-say-it "post-modern-tinged" trend in CV writing), that's actually very little at all...
