Family Definitions
The presentation is split into two main sections:
Definitions offers a selection of "older" and "newer" sociological definitions of "the family".
Explanations looks briefly at how families differ from other social groups (such as households) and also introduces the idea of different types of sociological definition (Inclusive, Exclusive and Network perspectives).
The download (in .zip format - see Download Help if you're unsure about this format) contains three files (which should be placed in the same directory on your computer): family1_1.exe is the executable file you need to run to start the program (the other two files are a video file and a copy of write.exe, a word-processor).
