The Culture and Identity Pathway has been designed as an introduction to both Sociology, as an academic discipline at A-level, and the concepts of Culture and Identity. In this respect, the emphasis here is on providing a general overview of a number of the main themes, concepts and theories involved in the study of Culture and Identity. |

The Post-Modernity Pathway is designed to introduce students to the social / historical context of post-modernity by relating it to the concepts of pre-modernity and modernity. The emphasis here is on an understanding of the essential characteristics of each of these different types of society and, by extension, their economic, political and cultural relationships.
