Force

When we start to think about society as some sort of force, rather than as a physical entity, the focus of attention is moved onto how human behaviour is socially organised in terms of the social relationships people create and recognise over time (relationships that are given labels such as "father", "mother", "friend", "sister" and the like).

In this respect we are starting to approach the concept of society from an angle that stresses the significance of social interaction as the key to understanding the various ways that "society" acts as a force upon people's behaviour.
