Sociological Outlines, as the name implies, are an attempt to provide students with relatively small, relatively simple, overviews of general sociological theories, concepts and perspectives.

In this respect, the Outlines are designed primarily for on-line use. They are, in effect, the on-line equivalent of paper-based worksheets. Indeed, the majority of the initial Outlines will be just that - versions of files that can, if you wish, download and print-off for individual / classroom room.

For the future, it would be nice if teachers felt that the construction of Outlines is something they'd like to participate in - either by submitting worksheets they have produced or, better still, by encouraging their students to produce Outline files as part of their course.

Files can be submitted in the usual way (by e-mail attachment, for example) and I will translate them into on-line versions. The Outline file produced then becomes a resource that can be shared by any student or teacher who happens along to Sociology Central...
