Replication is an important aspect of reliability since the ability to repeat a piece of research and gain the same (or very similar) results would suggest the data is reliable.

Reliability might also relate to the sources used (and their status) to collect data. 

For example, if another sociologist attempted to repeat my research "down the pub", would similar results be achieved?
