About This Section

The links in this section have been divided into two basic groups:

Sociology Sites   Miscellaneous Sites  
The main set of links relate to sites with varying levels of sociological content relevant to A-level students and teachers.

Most of the major Specification areas have been given their own section, although given the nature of sociological material there are numerous areas of overlap (welfare and poverty, for example, frequently overlap with social inequality and, to some extent, world sociology.

Within each category links have been subdivided into those or specific relevance to A-level students and those that may, on occasions and in particular contexts, be useful.

Many sites, of course, do not focus specifically on a single sociological area and these "general sites" have been accommodated in the Miscellaneous section - sites here are likely to offer a range of sociological material across a number of different Specification areas.

The second set of links relates to a range of different sites that may be of interest, at different times, to students and teachers:

Reference sites (containing encyclopaedias, dictionaries and so forth).
