When
you're thinking about resources at A-level (as you no-doubt do), news
organisations of various types and descriptions are an obvious source
of material - not just for current affairs (which is always
useful), but also for their archive material. Having access to
a searchable database of materials is, I've found, extremely useful for students
engaged in various types of project work (whether this involves
using the material for background or doing semiological or content-type
analyses). In addition, newspapers often carry reports
on social research studies, government initiatives
and policies and the like that can be used alongside textbooks
as a source of up-to-date material. |
In
this section, therefore, I've compiled a list of newspaper, journal
and broadcasting sites I think contain potentially useful
information. You will need to be aware, of course, that much of the material
will not be immediately accessible, but a little searching will
usually produce something of value.
Outside
of the basic categories noted above, I haven't included any specific details
about each of the sites on this page, mainly because their content constantly
changes and there should be enough information here for you to decide whether or
not a site is potentially useful for your search purposes... |
