Organismic Analogy

Not to be confused with an analogy that sounds a little bit similar (it's easily done...), a simple way to visualise this perspective is to think about it in terms of society being like (the analogy part) a human body  - both the human body and social systems consist of interconnected parts.

In the case of the human body it's organs that are interconnected (the organismic part) whereas in the case of societies the interconnections are based on social institutions (such as work the family and so forth).

Revision Practice:
Identify some of the ways people are connected to each other through their membership of social insititutions
