Education File Size: 400k Format: Teaching Notes Author: Chris.Livesey and Tony Lawson |
|
Contents include: This complete section, taken from the published version of AS Sociology for AQA, examines the history of the education system (from the 19th century to the present). This includes an outline of various Education Acts, an examination of contemporary State education polices (both Conservative and Labour) and the concept of the New Vocationalism (including an overview of the Tomlinson Report). The material has been designed to meet the requirements of the 2006 AQA Specification. |
The 2008 AQA Specification requires a knowledge of research methods to be integrated into the Education module and this document helps students and teachers to do this by identifying a range of educational research studies and the methods they used. The information is organised in terms of module heading, studies and research methods (with a short description of the research method used). |

Education eh? How is it possible to keep up with all the changes (even as I
write, yet another Academy School is opening its marbled doors and
hallways to a new intake of shiny-faced boys and girls)? Take it from one who knows, it's Not Possible. The best you can hope for is that some decent soul (for the sake of argument we'll call him "Chris") has - out of the kindness of his heart and a desire only to fill his publisher's coffers with the hard-earned dosh that should, by rights, be his - decided to write a cracking textbook that covers everything you need to know about education from 256BC to 10 minutes ago. Unfortunately until such a book is written the best you've got is this effort (also, co-incidentally, written by someone called "Chris"). |
