Individual or Team?

To make the simulations as flexible as possible, each can be played individually or as part of a small group. In terms of the latter, although the group work together to arrive at a common solution, two things come into play:

Firstly, each team member can be given a specific role to play (evidence-gathering, analysis and so forth). If this is the case, the team will have to decide on a chain-of-command that allocates these roles and can, on occasions, be used as a way of making decisions, resolving disputes and so forth (someone in the team, therefore, should be placed in overall command...).

Secondly, in the Debriefing section of the simulation (where the question students have researched is answered), it is desirable they write-up their answer individually (since this, of course, is the exam format).
