Discourse on Information, Technology and
the Global Noosphere
At first glance E.M.Recio's (2001) article doesn't look
particularly appetizing (what, for example, is the "Global Noosphere" when
it's at home with its feet-up on your sofa?). It probably doesn't look
much better after further glances.
However, stay with us on this one because the article is actually very
easy to read and critically discusses technological development, "several
of the myths of the increasing technological society, along with some of
its disastrous consequences" and "weighs the consequences of the loss of
meaning through too much information in society". And if that
doesn't whet your intellectual appetite then nothing will. |
