Tomlinson Report Just published as the book was being compiled, the Tomlinson Report (or
the "Working Group on 14 - 19 Reform" to give it its official title) is,
according to taste, either the most radical attempt at educational reform
in Britain since the
1944 Education Act or - not to put Whatever the eventual reality (and at the moment it's looking like "piecemeal implementation" is the likely option - the government implements the bits it likes and ignores the unpalatable bits), a general knowledge of the Report, its content, implications and, of course, criticisms would be very useful.
