Hidden Curriculum |
Grace Llewellyn (Whole Earth Review, Spring 1992) reported the following about Gatto: "...John Gatto has a new job. Having resigned, he continues to implement his unique "guerrilla curriculum" at the Albany Free School, and also lectures nationwide. In his lectures and his writing Gatto not only adeptly denounces the public schools, but also makes radical suggestions for improving them. These suggestions are grounded not in hypothetical clouds but rather on his own innovative methods of teaching which involve community service projects, independent study, apprenticeships, and solitude".
