This is the 1st edition of the textbook, originally published in 2006, and offers comprehensive coverage of the pre-2009 AQA Specification. Thus, while much of the text is still completely relevant to the new Specification (Theory and Methods, for example, is unchanged between the two Specs.) it does not specifically cover the newer element of the 2009 Spec. (and it does not include coverage of Mass Media).
Significantly reduced production and distribution costs are reflected in the cover price (whereas the print version retails at £18.99 the digital download version costs just £8 for the complete textbook). In addition, digital downloading means it's possible to produce and distribute each module separately from the main textbook at a vastly reduced cost (only £1.50 per module).
This facility also means it's possible to purchase individual modules (a minimum course coverage, for example, might include the religion, theory and methods, and crime and deviance modules) which adds a layer of flexibility and choice in purchasing decisions.
Finally, to reflect the portability and flexibility of the digital version it's possible to purchase a site license for the complete textbook (£40.00) that allows teachers to provide individual copies of the textbook to each of their students for no extra cost. A site license for individual modules (£10.00 per module) is also available.
